LAWSON is a theatrical experience about the life and works of Henry Lawson. Henry Lawson will be portrayed with theatrical flair and the inimitable talent of well-known Australian actor Max Cullen. Max, a highly regarded character actor and a veteran of some forty films and many stage appearances, brings to this production a well-honed craft and a passion for Lawson and his work.

Well known South Australian singer/songwriter John Schumann has transformed some of Lawson’s great poetry into moving songs that resonate with Australianism matched only by Lawson’s memorable writings. The Vagabond Crew consists of members of some of the country’s great bands and includes names such as Broderick Smith, Kat Kraus, Hugh McDonald and Mick Wordley and others.

This cleverly crafted Theatre piece is written by Brian Matthews. Brian is a Professor of Australian and English Literature and is considered to be the foremost literary authority on Lawson both his work and his life. Lawson is Produced and Directed by Errol Bannister who has had many years experience as an investor in and producer of Australian Theatre.

The Production will open in Adelaide on Friday 15th September and then tour SA regional centres. A National Tour is planned for early 2007.
